Great day outdoors. Drove for one hour north west of here. Crossed a time zone, crossed from the Great Lakes watershed to the arctic watershed, drove the truck 6 km on an ice road and got some nice walleye. There is a slot size on this particular lake so we had to throw some back as well.

Nice fish Orval but are you sure they weren’t Saugers? Can’t see any white tips on their tails and they have the mottled look of Saugers/Saugeyes. Even though I’ve never caught one it says on-line that the positive way to identify sauger/saugeyes is to pull the dorsal fin… If it’s spotted it ain’t a walleye.. also every walleye/saugeye has the white spot on its tail.
I may be wrong but was just curious if they catch saugers in the same lake you were fishing. According to info online they are in that general area.
